Mount Charleston, Nevada
Just outside of Las Vegas, the ecosystem drastically changes with the altitude on the slopes of Mt. Charleston. To escape the desert heat, people ascend the mountain to enjoy the cooler temperatures and increased vegetation.

Tucked into the rock faces are hidden crevasses and caves. Discovering the geological formations brings you back to a time when pioneers of the west and Native Americans used these hill sides as a place of sanctuary. Today it is a place of leisure and recreation, with spelunking and rock wall climbing, camping and hiking.
