PRESENTATION OF THE ARTS
While digital media is the most practical for sharing one's art to the world, often there are aspects of the art that are missed when not viewed in person. From the texture and layering of the paper, to the rich colors of pigment and volume of paint, many characteristics of an artwork can be overlooked when viewing a scan or photograph of that artwork.
It can be surprising how elevated a work can look when presented in a frame. A frame focuses the eye, creates negative space so the work is not too cluttered... while giving the eye places to rest... and uses color to accent the ones found in the work. It is very easy to consume content in digital form, but there is much more to a work when seen in person!
Consider a handmade artwork by local artists as a way to support the arts, and give your loved ones something original, thoughtful and of cultural value for the holidays!
